We Are Strong Podcast
At it's inception, We Are Strong began as a BIPOC youth-led podcast that aimed to address the issue of Human Trafficking within our communities. Previously, we did this by initiating an open and honest conversation about the topic by unravelling the layers of shame and stigma associated with violence against women, girls, trans and 2-spirited people. Recently, the theme of We Are Strong has transitioned. As youth and youth managers, we decided to dive deeper into topics affecting youth specifically. By highlighting the voices of community, we hope to address and reflect on the systemic issues that we, as BIPOC youth, resist against every day. Moreso, we hope to amplify the voices of other youth and youth leaders who empower youth to achieve their full potential, uplifting themselves and their communities along the way. We Are Strong aims to embark on a journey of learning, knowledge sharing, and rupturing stigma through our conversations with dynamic community members who work both personally and professionally to embolden BIPOC youth in Toronto to become the leaders we know they can be. We Are Strong is safety, it is empowerment, and it is resistance.
